WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is not an upgraded version of being a Christian. When we look at Luke 9 we see Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. They were Disciples. None of us are given permission to fall back on “but they were Apostles and I’m not”. The 12 at this time were not Apostles yet. They were followers who were listening, watching, learning what that meant. They were disciples.

We are disciples of Jesus. We are given power and authority: To heal, Trample on the enemy, Overcome.
